Omaha Rules

Omaha is similar to Texas Hold'em. The difference is that the hands in Omaha are usually much better, since you get to choose from 9 cards total.

1. Hole Cards. Each player is dealt four cards face down.
2. The Flop. Three cards are dealt face up on the table.
3. The Turn. A fourth card is dealt to the table.
4. The River. Finally, a fifth card is dealt to the table.

The five cards on the table are community cards. Your hand is formed by taking exactly two hole cards and exactly three community cards, and forming the best poker hand possible. But remember, all the players have access to the community cards. When played for money, there is a round of betting after a round of cards is dealt (so four rounds of betting in total).

In this example, you have a straight flush, because you can use the [[cards Qc 9c 8c]] on the board with the [[cards Jc 10c]] in your hand.

In this example, you have two pairs, Kings over Tens. Note that you cannot use all three Kings in your hand, since you must use exactly two hole cards.

In this example, you have trip Tens. You cannot use your Ace with the Ace on the board to make a full house, because you must use exactly three community cards. (You would pick the three tens). Your final poker hand is TTTAK.

The dealer’s hand is along the top. In the example above, you have been dealt a 7 and a King, totally 17. Ten, Jack, Queen and King all count 10 points. The dealer has 2. Look at the strategy card and look on the left hand side for 17 and then along the top for 2. Where this column and row crosses is a red ‘S’ for STAND, so you should click STAND.

Let’s look at another - Example 2

Looking along the left hand side of the strategy card for 14 and then along the top for 7 we find agreen ‘H’ for Hit. So you should click on the Hit button. If the strategy card shows a blue ‘D’, you click on Double if the option is available. This will double your bet and give you one card only.
It the card says ‘P’ you should click on the ‘Split’ button if available.

Poker Tips

1. Pay attention

Watch who's playing in an aggressive or loose way and who's playing tight, try to play the loose players and avoid the tight players, unless you've got a strong hand.

2. Watch the chips

Always be aware of everyone's chip count. Know who has more chips than you and play more carefully against them - a mistake could knock you out. It's usually better to play pots with players who have fewer chips than you do.

3. No match

If your cards don't match any of the community cards, throw your hand away when someone else bets.

4. Ace in the hand

Don't play every time you have an ace in your hand. However, play an ace if it's accompanied by a card of the same suit or by a 10 or higher.

5. Hands to stay with before the flop

Play with pairs (7-7, 9-9), two face cards (K-Q, Q-J), or hands that can make both a straight and a flush (8-9, 6-7 of the same suit). Be patient and fold other hands, unless you're in the blind.

6. Good hand? Bet strong

In no-limit Texas Hold'em, players can bet all of their chips at any time, so bet aggressively when you have a good hand.

7. Watch and wait

Play fewer hands when you're one of the first players to act, because you'll be 'out of position' and vulnerable to raises from the remaining players.

8. Wait your turn

Do not act until it is your turn; play proceeds clockwise at the poker table.

9.Be a 'bettor,' not a 'caller'

Being aggressive is good.

10. Call their bluff

If someone raises in a late position (near or on the button), re-raise them a good amount if you are on the blind. Chances are, they don't have a big hand and they're just trying to steal your blinds. (This style of play, known as going 'over the top', is probably the strongest play one can make in no-limit Texas Hold'em.)

11. Be patient

The biggest mistake most players make is to act too quickly. When you're making an important decision pause to think about how the betting has gone and what your opponent might have. Take your time

1. Playing an unknown or short-pay game

2. Holding too many cards
The most common playing error is holding a useless card (a kicker). In live draw poker, you can occasionally hold a kicker. 3. Playing with money you can't afford to lose
This is a symptom of compulsive behavior, and the dangers apply to all forms of gambling. If losing that next bet means that you won't be able to pay the rent, then you are doomed to lose. All intelligent gamblers take risk of ruin into account. Each bet should be only a very small percentage of your gaming bankroll. Home Poker Games

Game Options

Home games typically have more game options than card clubs or casinos. The type of games is limited only by the imagination of the players. This section describes a number of the most common home games.

Seven- Card Stud
SevenCard Stud is very popular and can be played highanly or high-low. Two down cards and one up card is first dealt to each player. Four more cards are dealt, three up, and the last one down, with betting intervals following each card. From the seven cards played, the best five cards win.

Texas Hold'em
In Hold'em, each player receives two cards face down, and then a bet ensues. Then three common cards are dealt face up, followed by a common fourth and a common fifth card, with betting intervals. The best five cards out of the two in your hand and the five on the board constitutes the hand.

Omaha High
In Omaha High, each player gets four cards face down, and then a bet occurs. Then three cards are dealt face up all at once on the board as common cards, with a betting round. Then a fourth common card is dealt face up with a bet, with a betting round, and a fifth common card is dealt face up with a common card and with a betting round. A player must use two (and only two cards) from his hand, together with three of the common cards. Hands in Omaha tend to be higher than those in Seven Stud or Hold'em because of the greater number of cards dealt out and the greater number of possibilities.

Omaha High-Lo* &or-Better
Omaha High-Low, hr-Better (Omaha/8) is played in the same way as Omaha (four cards in your hand, five common cards ultimately on the board), but there is a high hand and a low hand that splits the pot. A qualifying hand of 8 or better is needed for a hand to be in contention to win half of the pot.

Pineapple
Pineapple starts with three cards dealt face down to each player, and then a betting round ensues. Then three common cards are dealt face up followed by a betting round. Then each player must discard one of the cards in his hand. Then a fourth common card is dealt face up followed by betting, followed by a fifth common card face up and then betting. The best five cards from the two in your hand and five on the board are played. Pineapple can also be played high-low.

Five- Card DrauJ
In Five-Card Draw poker, each player is dealt five cards face down. After the deal, a betting round occurs. After the betting round, beginning with the player on the dealer's left, a player may discard one or more cards, and the dealer then deals her from the deck as many cards as she has discarded (the draw). A player does not have to draw and can stay pat. (For example, if you already have a straight, flush, or full house, you should stay pat and not draw any cards.)
After the draw, there is another betting round, followed by the show of hands. Some games limit the number of cards that can be drawn, some not. In one variation of Five-Card Draw, a person is allowed to bet only if she has a pair of jacks or better.

Lowball
Lowball is like Five-Card Draw, but the lowest hand wins the pot. Ace always counts as a low card and A-2-345 is the best possible low. Straights and flushes don't count, although some players play that 643-2-A is the lowest hand.

Like Five-Card Draw, five cards are dealt face down, followed by a betting round. Then a player may discard cards to improve his hand, followed by a final betting round.
The best hand is referred to by the highest card in your hand. If two players have the same card that is the highest card, then the next lowest card counts. For example,

7-6-5-4-2 beats 8-643-2
7-542-A beats 7-6-4-3-A
6-5-3-2-A beats 6-5-4-2-A

No pair beats any pair. So even K-10-9-8-7 Beats 2-2-34-5. Lowball is typically a game that should be played conservatively, waiting for pat hands or hands with one-card draws.

Five- Card Stud
In Five-Card Stud, each player gets one card down and one card up initially, followed by a bet. Then each player gets a second up card, followed by a bet. A third and fourth card face up is given to each player, each followed by a bet.
The best high hand at the end wins. There are variations of the game where players are allowed to buy one or two replacement cards after all five cards are dealt. The game can also be played high-low, although in this variation, no minimum 8-low-or better is typically required. A high pair in regular Five-Card Stud can often win the hand.

Baseball
Baseball is typically a version of Seven-Card Stud, where each player gets two cards down, four cards dealt face up, and a final card face down. But in Baseball, all 9s and 3s are wild. I: a 4 is dealt face up, it entitles the player to an extra down card. Baseball is a game where big, big hands often come up. With eight wild cards, you can see four of a kind easily, with straight flushes and five of a kind happening not infrequently.

Black Mariah
Black Mariah (sometimes referred to as Chicago) is a Seven-Card Stud game, except that the high spade in the hole splits half the pot. Sometimes Q* counts as the highest spade. If you have the highest spade in the hole in the first two cards you get, you can keep betting and raising at will.

Indian Poker
Indian Poker is a one-card game dealt face down to each player. Each player, without looking at his card, simultaneously places it on his forehead so that other player can see all cards but his own. Then there is a single round of betting, and then a showdown.

Razz
Razz is Seven-Card Stud, played low. Each player starts with two cards down and one card up. Each player'must ante initially, and the high card on the board is typically required to make a small bet. Subsequent players may then call or raise.
As long as he stays in, a player gets ultimately a total of three hole cards and four exposed up cards. The best hand is A-2-3-4-5. The key to this game is starting with three low cards and being able to read your opponents' hands and remember what cards have been already played and folded.

Crisscross (or Iron Cross)
Five cards are dealt to each player face down. Then five cards are placed face down on the board as common cards, in two intersecting rows forming a crisscross arrangement. The common cards are revealed clockwise, with the center card last, and with betting after each exposed card. Two cards from a player's hand and one row from the crisscross are used. - The game can be played high-only or high-low.

But before you play blackjack, first of all you should know the basic rules of blackjack, so you can play well and safe... =)


The basic rules of Blackjack

The aim of Blackjack is to beat the dealer’s hand.
First you place a bet by clicking on one of the chips in the lower right section of the screen. Now click on the ‘Deal’ button on the lower middle section of the screen. You are then dealt two cards, both face up. The dealer is dealt two cards, one is face up and the other is face down. An example is shown on the right.

The aim of the game it to get nearer to 21 than the dealer. Example: you have 17 and the dealer currently has 2. You have to say if you want another card (HIT) or take no more cards (STAND). To do this just click on the buttons on the lower part of the screen. If you go over 21 you bust and loose your initial stake. If get more than the dealer and get 21 or less you win. If this happens you win your bet back plus the same amount again.

In most casino Blackjack games, the dealer has to stand on 17 and above, and has to hit on 16 and below. So how will you know when to Hit or Stand ? The answer is by using my strategy cards which tell you exactly what to do for every card combination you may have.


Blackjack Rules

Blackjack has a dealer and one to three players (as described above). The dealer deals from a shoe containing four decks of playing cards. Before the deal, the players place their bets by clicking on either the $1 chip, $5 chip, $25 chip or the $100 chip, to reach the desired bet.
After deciding on the desired bet the player must click the "Deal" button to proceed with the hand. The round begins after all participants have bet and clicked "Deal".

In Public and Group Tables, the game will proceed once the one minute default time limit has expired. Once the deal begins the bets may not be changed. During the course of the hand players may add to their bets through Double Downs, Splits, and Insurance.

After the cards are dealt, you will be offered the appropriate option. Buttons located on the lower left side of the screen will appear in order to facilitate the player's desired action. For example, if it is possible to split two cards a button will appear to allow the player to split the cards. The player simply clicks on the "Split" button in order to split. The minimum bet is $1 and the maximum bet is $500. Each player receives two cards, face up, and the dealer receives one card, face up. The player may request as many additional cards as desired, until they either chooses to "Stand" or Busting.

If a player is dealt BlackJack, which is a 10 or face card along with an Ace, they are immediately paid 1.5 times the placed bet, unless the dealer also has BlackJack, in which case it is a "Push" (the player's bet left on the table). After all players' bets have been completed, the dealer completes their hand. If the dealer has sixteen or less, they must draw a card (Hit), until they reach seventeen or more. If the dealer's card total exceeds 21 (Bust), they must pay all players remaining in the hand.

"Double Down"
A player may select the "Double" option after being dealt two cards. The Double option automatically doubles the player's bet and deals one additional card, face up. The player cannot draw any additional cards. The player may double down on any first dealt two cards or after splitting a pair.

"Split"
If the player is dealt any pair of cards, on the first two cards (i.e., two Fives, two Jacks, etc.), they may split the cards into two separate hands. The split option automatically places an additional bet, equal to the original wager. Each hand is then played independently, and the player may take as many Hits as desired on each hand (with the exception of Aces, which receive one additional card only, per hand). In the case of split Aces, a player's BlackJack is not possible and is considered as a regular 21. In this case, a dealer's BlackJack wins, and a dealer's 21 becomes a "Push".

"Insurance"
If the dealer shows an Ace, the player has the option of making an

"Insurance Bet"
This equals half the original bet, and ensures that the player will not lose their wager should the dealer be concealing a 10 or face card under their Ace. If, in fact, the dealer's down card is equal to 10, the player wins the Insurance Bet. At odds of 2-1. If the dealer's down card has a value of less than 10, the player loses the Insurance Bet and continues normally with the hand.

"Push"
A Push refers to when the dealer and the player have the same numerical count in their hands. In this event the play is a draw, and the players bet remains on the table.

Notes:
• Should a player fail to place a bet within the set default time limit, the hand will continue without their participation.
• Should a player place a bet, but fail to click the "Deal" button within the set default time limit, they will automatically be dealt two cards and the hand will continue.
• In the event that the player is unable to click the "Deal" button due to a disconnection, the disconnection rules shall apply.
• The cards are reshuffled after each hand
